The big expansion reveal is planned for Gamescom on August 6 at 9:00 AM PDT.
In anticipation for the event, House of Zug will be hosting a “What’s Next for Warcraft” contest and giving away 50,000 gold in prizes to our two winners!
Simply follow this link to our contest page and complete the submission form, letting us know your best ideas for a new expansion. The deadline for submissions is 4:00 PM (PDT) on August 5. You must be a member of House of Zug to enter this contest.
Each submission will be recorded into a podcast and published to houseofzug.com on August 5. After the expansion is revealed the next day, we will elect two winners: one for best idea and one for closest to the actual expansion.
Each winner will walk away with 25,000 gold!!!
Congratulations to House of Zug for two new kills: Fel Lord and Socrethar!
This week, we will be returning to HFC normal with two new bosses on the table: Xhul'horac and Tyrant Velhari.
These encounters will be difficult, so please use the following resources to properly prepare.
See you Tuesday!!!
Congratulations team! We are officially 7/13 Normal and making great progress through HFC.
Special congratulations to both Ravindra and Zilthy who earned their Kor'Kron promotions this week!
And Morterici who earned his Gladiator promotion as well.
Best of luck Thursday, I wish I could be there to see you guys kick more butt!
Good Morning Raiders,
As all of you on the Progression Raid team know now, our attendance policy has shifted from signups to positive assumption. Rather than signing up on the calendar each week, we will simply assume that each Gladiator, Kor'Kron, and Officer will be in attendance for every raid, unless you specifically tell us otherwise.
Now, this doesn't mean that 100% attendance is suddenly mandatory. Rather, we're aiming for ~85% average attendance which is the equivalent of 16 sick days per year on a 2-night schedule - not too bad, right?
Here are some FAQs that I've been getting lately. I hope this clarifies our position.
Please note: this information applies ONLY to the Progression Raiding Team - not Friday Night Flex.
How do I notify an officer that I will miss a raid?
Post on this forum thread if you need to miss a raid. If it is a last-minute emergency, contact an officer in GroupMe.
Do I need to signup on the calendar?
No, if you're rank 4 (Gladiator) or higher, we will automatically confirm you unless you have posted on this forum thread.
Do you track attendance?
Yes. Starting in HFC, we maintain an attendance tracking spreadsheet. Following each raid, players who did not attend 100% of the raid are marked with one of the following tags: Excused Absence, Same-Day Conflict, No Call; No Show.
How can I view my attendance record?
You can view current attendance values here.
What happens if I miss a raid?
Nothing, HoZ prides itself on its fun yet flexible environment. We push hard progression, but we understand that work, family, and school come first. Those who communicate their schedules in advance receive an Excused Absence tag. As long as your not missing an excessive number of raids, you're fine. Just make sure to get with an officer to see what you missed.
What happens if something comes up last minute?
The Same-Day Conflict tag refers to anyone who notifies an officer that he or she will miss, leave early, or arrive late to a raid on the same day as the event. We understand that unforeseeable circumstances will occur, but they should be limited. Moreover, the burden of communication should be on the raider to make sure the officers are aware of your situation.
What happens if I forget to communicate?
House of Zug communicates its message on our website, blog, forums, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, GroupMe, and newsletter e-blasts. With all the conveniences of modern communication technology, there is little to no excuse for leaving your event organizers in the dark. Repeat No Call; No Show offenders will be asked to step down from the team. If circumstances prevented you from contacting an officer before a raid, do so as soon as possible!
I hope this clears things up. As always. please contact an officer if you have any questions.
Remember, the worst communication policy is always no communication!
