Dear Progression Raiders,
It is after much deliberation that I have decided to place mythic raiding on hold until after Trial of Valor progression. This was an incredibly difficult decision which came after nine hours of attempting to write our mythic raid policy blog and coming up short on several major policy changes.
Policy making is an extremely challenging process. Even the best-intentioned policies can have unintended consequences that leave feelings hurt or compromise the philosophy of the organization. House of Zug was founded on certain principles which we have done our best to uphold over the years. While many guilds have perished in recent years, House of Zug has stayed strong and grown because we continue to choose actions that uphold our values over decisions that will achieve short term progression or gear at the cost of our culture.
Ultimately, there were a few large hurdles which I felt our best ideas could not overcome without compromising the values that make us strong. Pushing out a mythic agenda with several obvious flaws may help us achieve additional progression and loot this tier, but at what cost? Realistically, with Blizzcon next week, Trial of Valor dropping on 11/8, and Thanksgiving soon to follow, we may only have 4 or 5 real opportunities to raid mythics before the end of the year, and it did not seem worthwhile to force such a massive change into such a small timeframe.
I am still very excited about the idea of progressing into the most challenging content the game has to offer. However, I believe that our mythic policies and requirements need some additional work and should be discussed at length with the team before they are implemented.
Please feel free to share your thoughts with me via GroupMe or in Mumble. If you are interested in learning more about some of the challenges we are facing with our policy rollout, the officers and myself are happy to discuss one on one.
Best regards and thank you for your understanding,
No raid tomorrow 10/27.
Heroic Emerald Nightmare clear on 11/1.
No raid on Blizzcon, 11/3.
We're postponing mythic raids until after Heroic: Trial of Valor dropping on 11/8.
Voidrake (LGNick#1759) has taken the initiative to self-organize a RBG team and is looking to gather some information on interest and availability from those interested.
If that sounds fun, please complete the form below and he will get back to you with more details. He is currently looking at a start date at or around the first week in December.
Dear Progression Raiders,
The mythic policy blog will regretfully be delayed until tomorrow evening on account of my pathetic human need for sleep. The officers and I put a lot of time and thought into these policy posts, and unfortunately, five hours was not enough time this evening to get it right (even with a clear vision in mind). Therefore, I will be delaying the post until I have had a chance to review it with fresh eyes.
They say to measure twice and cut once. This team is deserving of a final draft representative of the feedback that you all took the time to provide. And I do not wish this policy blog to be flawed or our ideas misrepresented on account of late-night drowsiness.
Thank you for your understanding.
