Zug Zug Guildies,
Yesterday was Thanksgiving for those of us in the states, and I hope you all found yourself surrounded by good food and loved ones. I just wanted to take a moment to express my thanks for having you all in my life. Over the last six years, House of Zug has become a second family to me. I've had the distinct privilege to watch so many lives grow and evolve over the years. I've seen college kids mature into professionals, spouses, and even parents. It's been an incredible gift to know so many of you and share in your passions, and I look forward to the many great memories to come.
I also want to give a special thanks to my fellow officers: Bill (Ravindra), Dan (Iridin), and Steve (Mythrodan/Dire). Their friendship, hard work, and council have transformed this guild into so much more than I could have ever hoped to accomplish myself. If you get the change, make sure to take the time to thank them.
Last, I want to thank all the members of the community who have gone above and beyond what was required of them for the good of the guild. From donations to the guild bank to helping a friend with their DPS, I have seen countless examples of generosity that too frequently go unacknowledged. Therefore, I would like to take a moment to recognize three members of the community that have made me exceptionally proud this year.
Zilthy has worked with countless guildies on logs and Weak Auras this expansion, volunteering her free time and expertise to educate members of the community on the fundamentals of exceptional gameplay. Rather than limiting her circle to players at her level of play, Zilthy provided countless resources and offered her time to those aspiring to maximize their performance. In particular, I loved that Zilthy's assistance never came with charity (like any good coach). She was happy to give you the time and tools, but you had to create your own success to earn her respect. This attitude of self-determination energized her teammates to strive for ever greater challenges, never settling for adequacy.
Voidrake (Phatso) and our newest raider Kihra stand out in my mind as shining examples of the core principles behind House of Zug. Their generosity towards their fellow guild mates is boundless. How many times have you been offered a potion, tome, or flask from one of these people at no charge? They live to help others and achieve team goals. Both have a reputation for grouping with anyone in the community, regardless of skill or the impact that the activity will have on his or her character's power. Moreover, they have a gift for diffusing tension with unrelenting optimism that is truly inspiring to me as a leader.
Thank you all for your love and support.
