I wanted to update the raiding community on the schedule for the next five weeks:
Tuesdays will continue to be our farm nights, featuring Iskar > Archimonde heroic encounters and should aim to wrap up around 7:30-8:00 PM PT.
The first 90 minutes on Thursdays will be dedicated to Meta Achievement farm, starting with the Highmaul half of Glory of the Draenor Raider which unlocks the Gorestrider Gronnling mount.
Beginning the following Thursday (02/04/2016), the remaining 120 minutes of the normal raid time (7:00 PM - 9:00 PM PT) will feature Challenge Mode runs for those interested in unlocking the ultra-rare gold metal transmog collection. Challenge Mode runs will be run similarly to progression raiding and will require a hard-core raid-style focus and proficiency. More info will be released in the coming days on CMs, so stay tuned if you are interested!
Glory of the Draenor Raider Guide
By all means, theres multiple ways of completing achievements but heres a quick rundown of one way.
Flame On. - Defeat Kargath Bladefist in Highmaul without destroying any Fire Pillars on Normal difficulty or higher.
Plan is to tank him near the gate and have ranged stand opposite him in the room, when rush comes out everyone not fixated shifts out of the way while the person fixated backs all the way up and have them blow personal cds (excluding immunities/deterrence etc) with large amounts of external cds for the first couple fixates so people are in the fight for longer, dying if need be at the end.
Hurry up! Maggot. - Cause the Butcher in Highmaul to slay 6 Maggots before defeating him on Normal difficulty or higher.
Maggots spawn after the fight engages around the room, even some in the shallow water when we jump down, one of the ranged in the ranged group will go and agro them (depending on their dmg otherwise maybe third tank) and stand them in the bosses cleaves to kill them.
More Like Wrecked-us. - Defeat Tectus in Highmaul by destroying all eight Motes of Tectus within 10 seconds of each other on Normal difficulty or higher.
Pretty self explanatory, kill shards same time and evenly kill the 8 motes with hero and dps cds.
A Fungas Among Us. - Gain 15 stacks of Burning Infusion and then defeat Brackenspore in Highmaul on Normal difficulty or higher.
One way to do it is closer to the end where there is a lot of moss, with a fully cooled flamethrower pop a draenic swiftness pot and use your personal sprints after/during it to get your 15 stacks. They can be gotten at any point in the encounter, you dont have to have 15 stacks when the boss dies.
Brother's in Arms. - Defeat the Twin Ogron in Highmaul without their Disposition ever exceeding 30% on Normal difficulty or higher.
Most people will have this, ideally you want to keep them as close together as possible so its obtained on accident easily. Ranged group, melee group and where phemos is pulled for WW should make a triangle with every point being within the maximum allowed yards (may get shield charge during WW etc)
Pair Annihilation. - Defeat Ko'ragh in Highmaul with fewer than 15 Overflowing Energy orbs touching the ground or players without Nullification Barrier, on Normal difficulty or higher.
Again easily done, basically just a speed kill timer.
Lineage of Power. - Empower and defeat a Fortified Replicating Gorian Warmage and then defeat Imperator Mar'gok in Highmaul on Normal difficulty or higher.
This is where a Dk comes in handy, he only does a couple steps in-between being interrupted and swapping fixate targets so the DK can grip the warmage in the direction you want him (reports of knockbacks not working). He doesnt seem to get a buff or change so an easy way to tell is track the achievement which turns from red to white description text once you kill a empowered warmage, empowering them is done by dragging them into the bosses mist when hes channeling a intermission phase. Fortified Replicating implies he gets empowered by both the T1 and T2 mists so dragging the right mage to the first mist is the shorter distance of the two and then to the second location during P3 so hes ready to be killed during second transmission, this means theres going to be a warmage up for half of the fight meaning people are going to have to move out of the group when they are fixated, ranged will shave his HP during P3 so hes a quicker kill in T2.
The Iron Price - There are 3 True iron ore deposits on the roof above gruul, you need to click on the to collect them and to get in range to do so, you get hit by the Overhead Smash ability.. and survive. (fall too)
He Shoots, He Ores - Just to the left of the hole that the boss comes out of there is a ore deposit which you can interact with. This gives you an extra action button which you have to football to other players to the ore grinder. You can not move with it and after throwing it the debuff takes a few seconds to ware off. Getting hit by the boss rolling around will cause you to drop the ore, even if you have an immunity up. There is a black tube directly left on the wall as you enter the room which appears to be the ore grinder, it has spikes around the side and when i was there on normal, i dont remember seeing it but it is there on heroic. When someone with the ore gets close enough to the ore grinder you can right click it to complete the criteria. Boss has to die to award the achievement. you can track the achievement and if it turns white during the fight that means you got the ore into the ore grinder, meaning you can then kill the boss.
Stamp Stamp Revolution - Obviously, don't get hit by the stamping presses.
Fain Would Lie Down - Takes 3 kills to complete, simply pull him near each beast on the pull.
The Steel Has Been Brought - The NPC standing next to the boss is the one you want to keep alive, you can bring a third tank so you can put him in the corner to get him out of the way and ensure hes not hit by cleaves.
There's Always a Bigger Train - Referring to the Wind-Up Train Wrecker, you place the toy train set, then get the train wrecker to destroy it then get it run over by a passing train. Having dbm tell you which track has an incoming train (not turret or reinforcement trains) helps a lot. dropping them both at 10seconds before the train comes is a good time to go off starting it. achievement is awarded to your entire raid during the fight.
Ya, We've Got Time... - easy concept, just need to line up a slag elemental and enough dps on each one after getting them all to low health to kill them simultaneously.
Would You Give Me a Hand? - Can be done accidently with a large group because if enough dps have similar damage when they're just killing them you will get it, otherwise you will need to coordinate 10 of them with tanks and healers aswell.
Be Quick or Be Dead - Easy concept. Fight is going to be harder than normal because the stacks will go higher and bosses are alive doing mechanics for longer. Will be trivial with better gear though.
Ashes, Ashes... - The ashes are during the third phase of the fight. They fall past the edge of the platform so you need people with jump/teleport effects to collect some before suiciding most of your raid when blackhand is almost dead. Disengage, demonic teleport, leap of faith, wild charge (out of form) and goblin rocket jump racial should all work, there is probably others you will have to get creative to collect asmany as you can. obviously the more classes with these types of spells you can get the better, along with as close to maximum sized raid.
