Important Dates for Progression Raiders
Preparing for Legion
Before Legion drops:
After launch, you'll want to get to 110 as fast as possible. Here are some things to keep in mind for this grind:
Dirty Neck-Beard Challenge:
Get to 110 as fast as possible so that you can complete all 10 mythic dungeons before the Tuesday, September 6 reset.
Gearing in Legion is super easy! Just about everything you do will give you artifact power and gear. House of Zug's minimum item level for Emerald Nightmare (Normal) is 840. Here are some basic tips on how to achieve this gear level as quickly as possible.
For a more in-depth look into gearing in Legion, I highly recommend Medivh's Legion Guide and Tuskeh's "Preparing for Legion!" video.
Dungeons are one of the primary tools for acquiring Pre-Raid gear. You'll want to familiarize yourself with their mechanics ahead of time. Normal, heroic, and mythic dungeons are available at launch. However, Arcway and Court of Starts must be unlocked through a quest chain in Suramar. Mythic+ is not available until September 20.
iLvl Requirements for Dungeons
NOTE: You need iLvl 810 to queue for Heroic dungeons using the LFG tool. However, you can walk in the door at lower iLvls with a preformed group. They aren't very difficult.
Legendary items drop randomly from just about anything in the game. If you're active in the game, you will likely see these drop for you at some point. You may only have one legendary equipped at a time, and they function similar to an addition set bonus.
Legendaries drop for your currently equipped spec! Make sure your loot specialization is set to your main spec.
Raiders must attain item level 840 in order to be eligible to participate in the Emerald Nightmare raid on September 20. This item level requirement will increase as the Progression Team advances through the raid tier, so it is very important to gear early and keep up with the team.
In addition to gearing, raiders will be expected to prepare the first four encounters in the Emerald Nightmare before September 20. It is likely that we will be tearing through these initial bosses quickly and then working on them again in Heroic difficulty before completing the later bosses in Normal.
Here are some tips on how to prepare:
