Legion is only two weeks away, and I thought it would be a good time to once again review our current raid roster and discuss our current setup and needs. As a reminder, you can view the current roster and signup to raid using the links below. If we have something incorrect on our spreadsheets, please alert and officer, and we will amend it asap.
I'd like to start with the healing setup for Legion because it is looking spectacular! We are still in need of a restoration druid and a little heavy on priests, but overall I'm very content with the current setup and the skills of the players on this team. You will be well protected from damage in Legion! Healers should start familiarizing themselves with their dps rotations both within their healing specs and in their off specs. As the officer in charge of the healing team, I will be working hard to ensure we are maximizing our healing efficiency by using only the minimum healers required for each fight. Transitioning healers to dps on a fight can actually be a net gain for healers. By reducing the fight duration, healers have more mana to spend on throughput. Needless to day, I am very excited to be returning to heals this expansion.
Damage dealers are essential to any team, and we have a lot of quality players that will be competing for top spots on the meters come September. While our numbers are strong, our current composition leaves much to be desired. Based on initial testing, melee slots appear once again to be very low demand among raid teams--especially now that they have removed many raid cooldowns like Rallying Cry and Smoke Bomb. Currently, we are melee heavy with a 1:1 ration of melee and ranged. I would really like to see this ratio around 2:3. Moreover, we have an incredibly class stacked ranged team with five mages and four hunters signed up to raid in Legion. We do not have any warlocks. This means no healthsones, no portals, and no summons. It also means that fights that do not value the mage or hunter skill set will be extremely more difficult. If any of our mages or hunters have an interest in exploring a new class such as the warlock, balance druid, elemental shaman, or shadow priest, we would welcome the diversity on the team.
PS: Shadow priests are going to be crazy this xpac! They are one of the only classes to retain execute abilities, and the new voidform mechanic is truly brilliant.
I am very please to say that numerous volunteers for off-tanks have stepped up in the last week. Our roster is currently looking excellent for tanks. We would like to continue to test our off-tanks in HFC in the coming weeks. Those interested in being off-tanks should consult with Direpaw to coordinate.
As always, if you have any roster related questions, please contact Barotar.
