Zug Zug guild and welcome to patch 6.0! We may have been on break in the absence of new content, but Zug is back, baby, and with a new lineup of events from the coming Warcraft expansion and other new Blizzard Entertainment franchises.
This website will be your go-to source for news, events, and upcoming changes to the House of Zug community. I encourage all members to check it often and participate in the various discussions surrounding the community. Although, the Guild Charter is still a work-in-progress, it has been largely updated with a new ideology corresponding to the type of player we are seeking to attract going forward. Please take the time to review these important changes.
Although once the top 25-heroic guild on the server, House of Zug has decided to take it down a notch and embrace the flexible side of the Warlords of Draenor expansion. This is not to say that we’ve gone soft or (that dirty word) “casual.” Rather, leadership has simply decided that it is time to embrace the advantages of a Normal and Heroic flexible setting. Our former raid schedule has been replaced with a new event: “Flex Raid Fridays” (5 PM – 10 PM Pacific or Server time).
We chose this timeslot because it best encapsulates the attitude and flexibility we are attempting to embrace. Traditionally, Fridays are not raid nights. Guilds typically shy away from weekend raids because of the natural volatility of their member’s schedules.
But raiding no longer requires a set team of players to show up at a specific time. Raiding has changed, and House of Zug intends to be at the forefront of this development. As a flexible raid team, we are not so constrained by the schedule of a few members. It is easier to replace holes by tapping into the vast cross-realm network. Moreover, many top raiders will also be free to participate in these events to gear their off-specs during off-raid nights. In short, Fridays have always been an awful day to raid—with the worst pugs imaginable. However, more players are online Fridays than any other. This tells me that players are starving for a fun, well-organized Friday event, which House of Zug will gladly provide.
Beyond Warcraft, House of Zug plans to bring you periodic action in Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm. (If you are not already signed up for the Heroes Beta do so now!) More details will arise after our next officer meeting in early November.
Blizzcon is coming November 7th & 8th, and House of Zug has an event scheduled for both days. Join us on Ventrilo as we discuss (complain about) all the latest changes while playing games.
As many of you know, I always like to end these State of the Guild bulletins with a call to action. This month, I ask the following:
Have a wonderful weekend Zuggies.
Barotar, GM of House of Zug
